Cape Reinga
If you're a Kiwi like me, you will know that Cape Reinga is the very top of New Zealand and the spot where the Pacific Sea and Tasman Sea meet. As it was just Easter, my family and I went on a Tiki Tour of the top of the North Island, so we thought it fit to visit this special land mark. The road leading up to it is all tar-seal now, (it use to be dirt roads), so much easier and quicker to get to. There is heaps of parking and there are loads of bus tours you can go on. Of course, the view is amazing! You can stand right at the edge and look out and you just see ocean as far as the eye can see. There are lots of signs along the way pointing out the nature or the spiritual beliefs of the Maori. At the bottom by the Light house, (yes, there is a light house), there is a really cool sign pointing out which direction Los Angeles is, also the South Pole, China and others that I can't remember off the top of my head. Do bring your togs if it is a hot day for once you're finished looking, down the road a bit, (you'll have to take a car I think), is a beautiful beach and camping ground. Do take a camera and good shoes of course but also get ready to stop and go quite a bit for others to take their pictures. Overall, a great NZ landmark that I now feel very glad that I have done. Hope you had a great Easter.
